Rise Skin Studio: A Brand Session

When Krissy Dykhouse of Rise Skin Studio came to me ready to niche down on paramedical tattooing I could not have been more excited to find creative ways to showcase her newly renovated space and incredibly special talent.

With an intimately personal service like this, it is so incredibly important to create visuals that not only draw in the right clientele but that also make those specific potential clients feel more comfortable actually inquiring. You want clients to be able to picture themselves in your space and in your presence.

That being said, we decided that for this initial session the photos would have to take place in her work place. We also brought in a faux client to help showcase Krissy's process and genuinely warm personality and cozy appointment space!

Storytelling Imagery -

I always try to create a visual story that my clients can easily tell on their own throughout their content.

Krissy is passionate about paramedical tattoo for personal reasons that connect her deeply to what her clients go through before they end up needing her services. More often than not, they are breast cancer survivors looking to reclaim a physical appearance that they prefer after closing that chapter.

I made sure to capture a few "detail" shots that I felt could kick start that conversation and/or give her an opportunity to spell out how the process works.

Multi-Passionate Missions -

It is VERY common for brand clients to have multi-faceted businesses. In a brand photography session there's no reason to leave out services that you enjoy offering!

This client also offers custom spray tans, eyebrow micro-blading, and owns Glo House Suites in Brandon, SD - where she is the ever present landlord. We spent time capturing her spray tan booth, tan product, and captured various headshots that could be put to use depending on the topic at hand.

Modern Headshots -

It's not necessary to have dozens of basic headshots, especially if you're looking to use photos like this on social media. A typical headshot on its own won't ever call in a ton of engagement online but they do still play a role on websites. Since Krissy has multiple roles as a woman in business, we grabbed a few options that could be used as needed.

To really help Krissy launch her brand with bang we also worked together on creating fresh branding, social graphics, and her very own website. All of which will add to her brand's bigger picture, digital first impression, and trust with potential clients. Take a look at the before and after Instagram Feed example below to get an visual understanding of how things can cohesively come together and speak volumes on your behalf --
