Jerica of Vibe Med Spa reached out looking to level up her virtual presence in order to grow her online audience and attract a more specific ideal client. Going into session planning, she had a neutral and modern color story in mind. Knowing the vibe we needed to create, I selected studio spaces for this session accordingly so that the locations added to the mood. We refreshed her headshots, snapped photos of product, brought in a faux client, and intentionally selected props and outfits that created a cohesive visual story.
Choosing the vibe carefully-
Our first location was the perfect, elevated, blank slate that we needed. I chose to shoot at West Sioux Studios in Sioux Fall, SD based on the clean white walls and gold detailed furniture such as the oversized ornate mirror, glass and gold side tables, and ivory velvet chair. Every studio has it's own unique style and it's imperative to know what space will add value to your vision versus take away from it. I absolutely loved shooting here.
We started off the session with Jerica applying her skincare routine in the large gold mirror, styled in a spa-like robe and continued to play up this vibe by adding accessories and unexpected props.
Styling & Props -
With social media being her main advertising source, I wanted to be sure to help her create some "stop your scroll" moments through the photo and video we captured while also still resonating with her ideal clients by featuring things like diet coke, gold hoops, a Stanley cup, and some name brand accessories from Louis Vuitton & YSL.
This combination lands with a very specific type of person and it's largely who Jerica enjoys working with most and wants to attract more of. This thought process should never be random and I'm thrilled with the results here.
After playing with this set up for a bit we moved through our shot list and timeline to the staged faux client shots and vibe-y lifestyle shots where we utilized her black scrubs and then some denim with various tops.
Staged Client Shots -
The behind the scenes style of imagery I planned to capture for Jerica will really help potential clients picture themselves working with her through her services. It's so important to paint this picture for potential clients so they can feel like they are investing in the right person for them.
Many times, I encourage business owners to do these at their personal location (if they have one) but room size, lighting, and future goals may not always align with that notion. Using a studio like this for these "working" visuals provides ample whitespace for use on websites with text and button overlays as well as social media slides or graphics.
Creating Timelessness for Brand Visuals -
This specific client was planning for a transition in business, which meant we needed to be intentional about making sure these visuals could work for her current stage of business as well as the next stage of growth that she was planning for. Neutral yet modern styling and poses that would carry into the new vibe she was planning to have for her upcoming re-brand were imperative.
This client also received 60+ short form video clips from our day together. She added on a content creation service with me so in order to produce some intentional content that would begin to attract the type of clientele that would align with her new business goals as well as revamp her digital first impression! You can view the Instagram feed example below that shows the revamp that comes from putting the brand photography and video to use, as well as a few Instagram Reels that I created for her.
